“Memories for Sale” in Best Erotic Romance

Whee! I sold “Memories for Sale” to Best Erotic Romance! It’s available for preorder and is due out in December 2011.

I wrote “Memories for Sale” back in 2006, but it’s never hit quite right with an editor until now. Sometimes that’s how these things work: a perfectly good story takes time time to click with the right editor. (Just like not every story will click with every reader.) I’m chuffed that the sparkly and delightful Kristina Wright was the editor it clicked with!

“Memories for Sale” is a bittersweet story about second chances, and I’m so glad it found a home with stories from a whole slew of amazingly talented authors:

Sweetly confessing two new story sales!

I’m thrilled to announce two new sales—well, a sale and a half, really—to the über-legendary Violet Blue!

“New Day, New Life” (as Andrea Dale) and “Sacred Places” (as Sophie Mouette, written with Teresa Noelle Roberts) will both appear in Sweet Confessions: Erotic Fantasies for Couples in July 2011!

Interestingly, both stories involve travel, couples out of their natural environment and being more adventurous than they would be at home.

“New Day, New Life,” opens on the Charles Bridge in Prague, with the protagonists watching a mostly naked go-go dancer in the window of a nightclub. That part of the story is taken from real life…!

“Sacred Places” takes place in Britain, mostly in a ruined monastery. I don’t remember if Teresa and discussed exactly where, but in my mind it’s a combination of Tintern Abbey and Llanthony Priory, both sites we’ve been to together. (At this rate, I should be able to write my entire time in Britain off on taxes, given how many stories I’ve set there!)

Sweet Confessions: Erotic Fantasies for Couples is available for preorder. Enjoy!

Is kink your cup of tea?

“How the Little Mermaid Got Her Tail Back”

Ella believed her kinky desires were perverted and sick. It takes a special man like Philip to teach her that she isn’t wrong, or different, or broken. Through bondage and exhibitionism, he gives his little mermaid her tail back. A deliciously sexy short story by a legendary erotica heavy-hitter.

“How the Little Mermaid Got Her Tail Back” (in a sushi restaurant!) is as beguiling as a siren.
—Erin O’Riordan, Urban Fantasy Writers

I really loved the tale “How The Little Mermaid Got Her Tail Back” by Andrea Dale. It is a lovely recounting of how a broken woman regains her power and womanhood through the love of a special man. Truly a special tale.
—Airen Wolf, Eden Fantasys

Of all the stories, I would say the most intriguing was “How the Little Mermaid Got Her Tail Back.”
—Monica Solomon, The Romance Readers Connection

“How the Little Mermaid Got Her Tail Back” first appeared in Fairy Tale Lust: Erotic Fantasies for Women (Cleis Press, 2010), which received 4.5 stars from Romantic Times, and was republished in Best Bondage Erotica 2011 (Cleis Press, 2010).

“Always a Bridesmaid”

Even though Veronica was a shrewish harpy, I’d always lusted after her. Now I had the opportunity to make this bridezilla pay…in a deliciously kinky way. A hot-and-heavy lesbian short story by a legendary erotica heavy-hitter.

“Always a Bridesmaid” originally appeared in Coming Together: Against the Odds (Phaze Books, 2009)

Breaking Waves charity anthology

Book View Café has launched their benefit anthology, Breaking Waves. All proceeds from the sale of this book will go to the Gulf Coast Oil Spill Relief Fund of the Greater New Orleans Foundation.

The collection features over thirty stories by a wide range of best-selling and award-winning authors, including a previously-unpublished poem from Nebula and Hugo award-winner Ursula K. Le Guin, as well as a chapter from Rachel Carson’s groundbreaking book The Sea Around Us. Authors contributing stories of environmental rescue and recovery include Vonda N. McIntyre, Judith Tarr, Deborah Ross, Sarah Monette, David D. Levine, David Gessner, and Lyda Morehouse, among others. Tiffany Trent and Phyllis Irene Radford edited the collection.

The book is available in epub, pdf, mobi, and prc formats in the Book View Café bookstore and will be coming to the Kindle store soon.

Okay, so why am I mentioning this here? Well, obviously, it’s a benefit I believe in, and obviously, there are some major names in this book, so you know it’s gotta be good.

But there’s another thing.

I’m in it.

Wait. Because I’m still reeling in shock, I have to repeat that. I have stories in this anthology, too.

HolycrapI’minananthologywithUrsulaK.LeGuinandVondaN.McIntyreandJudithTarrandKristineKathrynRuschandIamsoooonotworthy!

Not only that, but I sent them two stories, figuring they’d pick the one they preferred…and they took both of them. I think I’m the only person with two stories in there: A reprint of “The Power to Change the Shape of the Land” (originally in Sword & Sorceress XVI) and a new (older) story called “I Sing a Song of Mourning.” (Also known as, the two stories with the longest titles I’ve come up with.) Both are fantasy, for those of you who eschew the steamier side of fiction.

Please buy a copy, folks. If not for my stories, then for all the other amazing ones in there (look at that TOC!), and for the Gulf. Thanks!
